8-2-08 3:45pm UPDATE:
Liriano will pitch Sunday afternoon versus the Cleveland Indians, pushing Glen Perkins’ start back by a day.
8-1-08 4:01pm:
Hot off the presses, the Twins have called up Francisco Liriano and DH/1B Randy Ruiz. Lirano will likely pitch on Monday in Hernandez’s spot.
Joe Christensen had the update on startribune moments ago:
The team has yet […]

And I am Cool with that! There are 55 games left and “rental players” rarely work out the way we think. Last year the clubhouse was tore up because of the trade of there 2nd basemen. Proven by this quote:
No one seemed to mind that the Twins stood pat on Thursday. Nathan said […]

7-31-08 9:45pm UPDATE:
Okay, who knows… maybe Frankie will be pitching tomorrow night against the Indians! He was scheduled to pitch tomorrow in Rochester, but LENII practically says he’s been called up to the Twins and that Livan may be shown the door. Might be more prudent to put Livan in Brian Bass’ mop-up role […]

Hotstove rumor from mlbtraderumors.com:
John Maine’s rotator cuff strain has the Mets looking at pitching. Graziano suggests names like Livan Hernandez, Paul Byrd, and Jarrod Washburn.
Wouldn’t that be nice! The Twins have to move a pitcher to make room for Francisco Liriano to return to the rotation. It just makes too much sense.

I’m convinced that the Twins are working on a trade that involves one of their starting pitchers and possibly even Liriano himself. There is no other explanation why a […]

Why the Twins always go with the veterans who’ve proven they are mediocre is beyond me. Livan Hernandez is the latest to prove that he’s exactly what everyone thought he was, sporting a 5.29 ERA and looking to give up a major league record for hits in a season. Don’t let the win total fool […]

The Twins today signed Livan Hernandez to a one-year deal. He finished 11-11 with a 4.93 ERA last season and has spent his entire career in the National League. Some scouts think he’s going to face a rude awakening in the American League.
The pros: He’s a durable innings eater. He’s pitched 199 […]
