I had a off season after the playoffs, but I am back. So … Well, the Twins had a pretty good year, with a lot of young talent. So they could go back with same team next year and probably be close to has good as they were this year. […]

8-2-08 3:45pm UPDATE:
Liriano will pitch Sunday afternoon versus the Cleveland Indians, pushing Glen Perkins’ start back by a day.
8-1-08 4:01pm:
Hot off the presses, the Twins have called up Francisco Liriano and DH/1B Randy Ruiz. Lirano will likely pitch on Monday in Hernandez’s spot.
Joe Christensen had the update on startribune moments ago:
The team has yet […]

And I am Cool with that! There are 55 games left and “rental players” rarely work out the way we think. Last year the clubhouse was tore up because of the trade of there 2nd basemen. Proven by this quote:
No one seemed to mind that the Twins stood pat on Thursday. Nathan said […]

7-31-08 9:45pm UPDATE:
Okay, who knows… maybe Frankie will be pitching tomorrow night against the Indians! He was scheduled to pitch tomorrow in Rochester, but LENII practically says he’s been called up to the Twins and that Livan may be shown the door. Might be more prudent to put Livan in Brian Bass’ mop-up role […]

Francisco Liriano has not been called up and will again take the mound (no doubt w/ a chip on his shoulder) for the Red Wings on Sunday.
I’m convinced that the Twins are working on a trade that involves one of their starting pitchers and possibly even Liriano himself. There is no other explanation why a […]

This is off the Twins web site:
CLEVELAND — Carlos Gomez suffered a lower back injury in the first inning against the Indians on Friday after crashing into the left-field fence while making a spectacular leaping catch.
Gomez, 22, was taken off the field on a stretcher with his neck stabilized in a brace. He was taken […]

Christensen reports this morning that a “shakeup” is expected in the coming days. Here’s his take:
Rather than trade for relief help, the Twins have discussed promoting Francisco Liriano from Class AAA Rochester and moving a starter — possibly Liriano himself — to the bullpen.
Liriano, Glen Perkins and Nick Blackburn are the main candidates for a […]

Why the Twins always go with the veterans who’ve proven they are mediocre is beyond me. Livan Hernandez is the latest to prove that he’s exactly what everyone thought he was, sporting a 5.29 ERA and looking to give up a major league record for hits in a season. Don’t let the win total fool […]

Thanks to LaVelle for pointing us all to the story in the Democrat and Chronical in Rochester, NY:
[B]ig congratulatory hugs didn’t come until after the game. That’s when Minnesota Twins general manager Bill Smith told Wings closer Bobby Korecky that he was headed to the major leagues for the first time in his career.
Korecky was […]
