Today, Howard Sinker poses an interesting question: Should it be Denard Span who gets sent down when Michael Cuddyer returns to action? Or should it be Carlos Gomez?
Sinker makes a case for both but his case for sending Gomez to AAA is the stronger argument:

The Twins have taken a cautious approach bringing Francisco Liriano back from injury, and it appears the perfect opening has emerged to get him back into the rotation. With Nick Blackburn pitching pretty well, it would have been a slightly difficult decision for Gardenhire to take him out of the rotation.
